Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Unless specifically indicated otherwise, our workshops and webinars are Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) CEU accredited and so are valid only for the profession of psychologists and counsellors. Other disciplines will need to apply at their own registering bodies for the conversion of our Solution Focused Institute CEUs to your profession’s recognition of CEU points.

As per the HPCSA CPD Guidelines document, all CEU accredited training is valid for a period of 12 months from the date that the activity took place/ended. For live training, the validity expires 12 months after the training date.

The HPCSA regulations for Psychologist (PS) / Psychometrist (PMT) / Registered Counsellor (PRC) state that a minimum of 25 General CEU and 5 Ethics CEU points is required.

Our pre-recorded webinars give you the flexibility to complete the webinars, and earn CPD points, in your own time, and as needed. We will use the date entered on your completed Multiple Choice Questionnaire Form as the webinar completion date. Your CPD points are therefore valid for 12 months from this date.

The issuing of CPD certificates has been withdrawn by the HPCSA as this leads to duplicate CEU points allocation.

Presenters and attendees of all CPD activities must please note that the attainment of continuing education units (CEUs) does not license any professional to practice outside of their official scope of practice. CEUs are intended to broaden the knowledge of professionals but do not constitute professional training. Professionals should be registered with the HPCSA to perform any psychological act.

Any personal information received will only be used to complete your registration; your workshop or product order and for registration to receive our newsletters. We will not sell or redistribute your information to anyone.

2) PAYMENT OPTIONS

Domestic Clients – CREDIT CARD PAYMENT:

  • Yoco is a South African payment gateway and is to be used if you hold a South African issued bank card only.
  • Yoco may not be utilised as a payment option by persons transacting from a non South African bank.
  • Yoco does not recognise foreign currencies and therefore will only transact in South African Rands, regardless of the currency advertised or selected for payment.
  • Yoco provides a secure credit card payment gateway for all major South African banking institutions www.yoco.com/
  • Your MasterCard or Visa credit card will need to be 3D Secure activated. Please consult with your bank.
  • 3D Secure, a technical standard created by Visa and MasterCard, provides an extra step during the online payment process to verify the shopper’s identity. This was introduced to help reduce online fraud risk, and safeguard credit card transactions.
  • Double payments made in error will be refunded.
  • Once your payment reflects on our side, your online purchase will be activated.
  • If a discounted price is on offer, the full discounted payment is due by the stated early/discounted deadline in order to qualify for the discounted rate.

Domestic Clients – ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER (EFT):

  • EFT may be utilised as a payment gateway solution, provided the correct South African Rand amount is transferred.
  • When you click on “Place order” an email with details of this transaction; our banking information and your Order ID will be emailed to you.
  • Please make your EFT payment into our bank account using your Order ID as the payment reference.
  • Your order remains pending until proof of payment is emailed to online@solutionfocusedsa.com
  • Once your payment reflects on our side, your online purchase will be activated.
  • If a discounted price is on offer, the full discounted payment is due by the stated early/discounted deadline in order to qualify for the discounted rate.

International Clients – PAYPAL or EFT:

  • PayPal is an international payment solution to be utilised by international clients.
  • EFT transactions from international clients incur large foreign exchange and banking fees and so are not suitable unless all additional costs are included to cover bank fees, exchange rate conversions, forex charges etc. Please email us should you prefer to make an EFT so that we can advise on the additional amount to include.

3) VENUE-BASED WORKSHOP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Please note that for venue-based workshops, full payment is required 3 weeks prior to the commencement date of the workshop in order to secure your attendance.
  • Only a fully completed registration form and full proof of payment secures registration and placement.
  • It is essential that proof of payment is e-mailed to drjacqui@solutionfocusedsa.com
  • Your bank and administration costs incurred will be for your account.
  • Event dates, times, venue and topics are subject to change.
  • The number of participants at each workshop is limited and acceptance will be on a first registration, first full payment basis.
  • Dr von Cziffra-Bergs reserves the right to refuse admission if proof of payment cannot be supplied.
  • In the unlikely event of cancellation, participants will be informed and all fees will be refunded.
  • Participant cancellations received 5 or more working days prior to commencement of the workshop will incur a 60% workshop charge. No refunds will be considered if cancellations are received within 5 working days of commencement. In the event of a cancellation, notification must be in writing.
  • Non-arrivals will be liable for payment of the workshop fees in full. No refunds will be made for non-attendance.

4) ONLINE WORKSHOP TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Full proof of payment together with the relevant Order ID reference number must be emailed to online@solutionfocusedsa.com
  • Your bank and administration costs incurred are for your account.
  • Where required, only a fully completed registration form and full workshop fees proof of payment secures your registration.
  • For Online Workshops the commencement date is equal to the date your payment is validated. You will receive an Online Workshops commencement email on this date.
  • The completed Assignment Form and Evaluation Form must be submitted online within 8 weeks of the Online Workshop commencement date.
  • Where Online Workshops have a time limit, for example at 8 weeks, access to the Online Workshop will be suspended. A 2 week extension pack is available for purchase.
  • Dr von Cziffra-Bergs will mark the Assignment Form and evaluate whether the outcomes of the course have been reached in order to supply a CPD certificate. Dr von Cziffra-Bergs decision is final and no correspondence will be considered.
  • The refunding of payments received for an Online Workshop, either in part or in full, will not be considered regardless of circumstance as the workshop duration provides sufficient time to complete the workshop.
  • Each Online Workshop is designed as a part of a series which build upon each other. Dr Jacqui recommends that the online workshops be done in sequence, however this is optional.
  • Each Online Workshop within the series can only be accredited once per calendar year for CPD points. You therefore cannot submit the same Online Workshop twice in the same calendar year to earn double CPD points.
